Arsenal have reportedly revived their interest in signing Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors during the current transfer window. The Argentine has also attracted interest from Barcelona of late with Lionel Messi said to be a huge admirer of his compatriot.

According to AS, the Gunners are set to retain their pursuit of the Argentina international after failing with an approach for the 22-year-old in January.

However, they are likely to face competition from the Blaugrana with Messi said to have recommended the signing of his national teammate, who has been making a reputation for himself in Buenos Aires.

Nevertheless, Boca are understood to be in no hurry to offload their forward after he penned a fresh five-year contract with the club only in the summer of 2017.

Pavon was recently part of the Argentine squad at the World Cup where they were ousted in the round of 16 stage by France. He managed to appear in all four games for the nation including a start in the 4-3 defeat to Les Bleus.
