Chelsea are reportedly open to the possibility of exchanging Alvaro Morata for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain in the transfer window.

The Blues pursued Morata from Real Madrid for a club-record sum last summer but the Spaniard could not make a significant impression with just 11 goals in the top-flight.

As a result, the 25-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Italy this summer and Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Blues could be prepared to swap him for Higuain.

Higuain has been a good success during his time in Turin with 55 goals in 103 appearances but they have been question marks regarding his future with the Old Lady eyeing a younger recruit.

The Argentine was recently part of the national team at the World Cup where they were ousted in the round of 16 stage. He was an unused substitute in their final outing versus France.
