Manchester United make a transfer decision on Gareth Bale

Bale unlikely to join Manchester United this summer

Manchester United have reportedly given up on signing Gareth Bale in the current transfer window.

The Wales international has been strongly linked with the Red Devils over the past year but the deal now appears doubtful with Real Madrid close to sanctioning the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to The Sun, United are unlikely to get their hands on Bale in the transfer window with Los Blancos not keen on losing another of their Galactico signings this summer.

Ronaldo is seemingly close to joining Juventus in a deal worth £88m in the coming days and his departure is likely to enhance Bale's chances of securing regular gametime.

The Welshman was in-and-out of the first XI with the European champions last term but the exit of Ronaldo may pretty much assure him of a starting spot in his preferred left-wing position.

Manchester United have yet to make any forward-minded signings during the current transfer window but reports suggest that they may be tempted to do so amid Anthony Martial's apparent desire to leave the club.
