Lyon president responds to fresh Liverpool interest in Fekir

Fekir to Liverpool still on?

Lyon president Jean-Michael Aulas has hinted that the club may reconsider a fresh approach from Liverpool to sign midfielder Nabil Fekir in the transfer window.

The France international was apparently on the cusp of a £53m deal earlier last month but the move was cancelled at the final hurdle amid Liverpool's concerns over his injury record.

Les Gones thereafter confirmed that Fekir would stay put with his hometown club for the 2018/19 season but Aulas has now suggested that the move could still be on.

"It seems to me that Liverpool could come back in," he said in an interview with Le 10 Sport. "That's what I've read in the press, but I've not been told anything."

Fekir has not earned a single start for France during the ongoing World Cup in Russia and he may feature from the bench at best against Croatia in the final tonight.
