Didier Deschamps reacts to World Cup win
France coach Didier Deschamps has hailed Les Blues' triumph over Croatia in the final of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, describing it as 'marvellous'.
France defeated Croatia by four goals to two to lift their second World Cup in history, twenty years after their first triumph, and twelve years after they lost to Italy on penalties in Germany.
France were not very dominant in the final, but were able to take their chances when they saw them.
France began the tournament slowly, but gradually grew into the tournament, improving their attacking threat massively.
They scored an impressive eleven goals from the second round to the final, a lot more than the three goals they scored in the first round.
With this win, France have more than made up for their disappointing final loss to Portugal in Euro 2016.
This young French team will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come, and will surely be among the favourites in future international competitions.
