Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac has said that the club are not ready to let star striker Robert Lewandowski leave the club this summer.

Lewandowski has been linked with a move away from Bayern with Real Madrid and Manchester United named as likely destinations.

"There's nothing new with Robert, it's clear that he will not leave this club because we have a top striker and we certainly do not want to relinquish him or give him away," Kovac told Sky Germany.

The manager went further to say that the Bundesliga giants are hoping to achieve more with the Poland international, who has scored 150 plus goals since joining them from Borussia Dortmund on a free in 2014.

Bayern won the League last season and made it to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League where they were knocked out by Real Madrid. The former Dortmund man reportedly wants a move to Real but could go to Old Trafford if United are willing to pay him £500k every week.
