Courtois' agent speaks on his transfer situation

Thibaut Courtois' agent has reiterated his client's desire to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid amid reports the club want to keep him.

Chelsea halted further negotiations with Madrid over the transfer of the player until they can get a replacement.

So far, they have been unable to find a replacement with several Premier League goalkeepers linked.

"I have been reading everywhere that Chelsea are saying it is up to Thibaut, but he has made it clear to the club that the best option for him is to move to Madrid," his agent said, Sky Sports reports.

His agent also said that there is an offer available for Chelsea to accept in order to let Courtois join his family in Madrid.

Courtois has reportedly threatened to run down the remainder of his one year contract and leave for free next year if he is not allowed to leave now.

Real have been looking for a top class goalkeeper and are keen to get the Belgian, who shone at the World Cup in Russia.
