Barcelona still hopeful of landing Manchester United star

Barcelona are reportedly maintaining their interest in signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba despite the English transfer window having come to a close.

According to The Mirror, Premier League clubs won't be able to make further signings until the turn of the year but this has not deterred Barcelona from maintaining their pursuit of the France international.

The Catalan giants failed with a cash-plus-player move for Pogba earlier in the week but they are nevertheless hopeful of signing the midfielder with super-agent Mino Raiola playing a key role in the deal.

United boss Jose Mourinho was left frustrated with the transfer window after Ed Woodward managed to make just one big signing in the form of midfielder Fred.

The Red Devils are said to have knocked back advances for both Martial and Pogba this summer and they are highly unlikely to part ways with them, now that the English transfer window has closed.
