Real Madrid renew interest in Manchester City winger

Raheem Sterling news

Real Madrid have renewed their interest in Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, according to Sky Sports News.

The European transfer window closes on Friday, but it is understood that a bid will not be made before then.

The UEFA Champions League holders are keeping tabs on the former Liverpool man, and will send agents of the club to watch him when England face Spain during the international break.

Sterling's contract with the Citizens will expire in the summer of 2020, and talks have been held regarding a new deal, but an agreement has not been reached.

A new deal is stalling because the player reportedly wants an increase in his pay which is currently at £175,000-a-week.

The 23-year-old has made two Premier League appearances this season, scoring one goal.

Real Madrid are yet to find a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who moved to Juventus earlier in the summer - and if Sterling continues to impress after a wonderful performance last season, the European champions could make a move for him in the next one year.
