United set to reward Pereira with new deal

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to trigger a clause in Andreas Pereira's contract to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

The Brazilian was impressive for the Red Devils during pre-season and this has witnessed him start the first two games of the league campaign.

According to The Sun, the Mancunian giants are now aiming to prolong his stay with his existing contract due to expire at the end of the 2018/19 season.

The club are yet to start off negotiations over a fresh deal with the Brazilian but they are prepared to secure his short-term future by triggering a one-year option written into his contract.

Pereira joined the Red Devils during the summer of 2011 and he has since graduated through the youth ranks to make seven appearances in the top-flight.

Initially, the 22-year-old was a winger by trade but he has been transformed into a central midfielder under the tutelage of United boss Jose Mourinho.
