Gerard Pique compares Klopp and Guardiola

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has compared the playing style of Jurgen Klopp to that of Pep Guardiola, saying that they are the opposite of each other.

Guardiola's side Manchester City have started the Premier League season well, taking seven points from a possible nine, but Klopp's Liverpool have done better by winning all three games.

“I think Jurgen is doing a great job at Liverpool,” said Pique, Manchester Evening News reports. “Because the style of play is the opposite of Guardiola."

The former Manchester United man added that the Reds prefer to counter-attack with fast players like Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane up front.

Guardiola is known to prefer his team having the ball as much as possible, and to apply constant pressure.

On who will win the Premier League, the defender favoured Manchester City but admitted that anything can happen.

Before the international break, which is coming up next week, Liverpool will face Leicester City while Manchester City will face Newcastle United.
