Lyon president responds to Chelsea interest in Nabil Fekir
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that Chelsea were never in the running to sign Nabil Fekir during the final stages of the English transfer window.
The France international was strongly tipped to join Liverpool during the early stages of the summer transfer window but the deal was scuppered at the final hurdle amid concerns regarding his injury record.
Thereafter, the Blues were constantly linked with the World Cup winner but Aulas has now clarified that there was no interest whatsoever from the west London side.
"We spoke with Chelsea representatives, and they had no interest at all in him. From then on, we realised we could change our plans," he is quoted as saying by L'Equipe.
Chelsea did not pursue an attacker during the course of the summer transfer window but they did manage to bolster the heart of the midfield with Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic joining them - the latter on loan.
