Arsenal reach fresh stumbling block with regards to Ramsey's contract

Arsenal's chances of committing Aaron Ramsey to a long-term deal has reached a new stumbling block amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

The Wales international was recently deemed to be on the cusp of signing a new contract following months of discussions but the club appear to have now hit another snag.

According to The Sun, the club's desire to extend Ramsey's contract has reached a halt with Gazidis, who is normally incharge of the negotiations, said to be weighing up his future with the club.

AC Milan are understood to have held initial discussions with Gazidis regarding a similar role with them and this has supposedly stalled talks with Ramsey, who is understood to want a £250,000-a-week contract.

At present, Ramsey has just 10 months left on his remaining deal with the Gunners and he would be free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
