Willian happy to stay at Chelsea despite summer transfer interests
Chelsea winger Willian has said that he is proud and happy to stay and to be a Chelsea player despite being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge during during the last summer transfer window.
He was linked with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona with the latter having several bids rejected by the Blues.
“I am very proud to stay and be a Chelsea player," he said, the Express reports. "It is an honour to play at this club. I am very happy at Chelsea. Everyone knows what happened in the last window."
He also said that he is enjoying his game under new boss Maurizio Sarri. Chelsea have 100 percent start to their Premier League campaign, having won their first five league games.
Willian has featured in all Chelsea's Premier League games this season, with two coming from the bench. He has provided an assist and a goal so far.
Chelsea face Greek side PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday before playing West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.
