Watford, Aston Villa want Chelsea defender
Aston Villa and Watford are reportedly considering the prospect of signing Gary Cahill on a free transfer from Chelsea at the conclusion of the current campaign.
The England international ended the previous season with the Blues on a high by lifting the FA Cup but he has since failed to break into the first XI under Maurizio Sarri.
As such, he has been strongly tipped to make way from the Blues at the end of the season and according to French publication La Gazette des Transferts, both Villa and Watford are monitoring his proceedings at Stamford Bridge.
Cahill came through the youth system at Villa and made 31 senior appearances for them before making the switch to Bolton Wanderers midway through the 2007/08 season.
The Villains previously signed Blues legend John Terry on a free transfer at the end of the 2016/17 season and manager Steve Bruce is supposedly considering the same option with Cahill for the next campaign.
