Almiron to join Arsenal

Arsenal have agreed a deal for Paraguay international Miguel Almiron in the January transfer window, with a reported fee of £11 million for the player having been confirmed. The highly-rated midfielder will join from Atlanta United from Major League Soccer in January.

The 24-year-old is wanted as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who will reportedly not sign a new contract with the Gunners and is likely to leave Arsenal in the January transfer window. Almiron had also been tracked by Serie A sides Inter Milan and Genoa, but has instead opted to make a move to England to continue his career.

Arsenal have been tracking Almiron for some time, but had been unable to agree a fee for the player in the past, however with the midfielder now desperate to make a move to Europe his club have decided to let the player move elsewhere.

Almiron will sign a four year deal with the Gunners. Almiron is comfortable playing in attacking midfield or on either flank.

Almiron moved to Atlanta United in a £6 million deal from Argentinian side Lanus in 2017.
