Clyne to swap Liverpool for Foxes?

Nathaniel Clyne is a target for Leicester City in the January transfer window, having fallen out of favour with Liverpool's coaching team during the past year. It is understood the right-back is ready to move for a fee of £5.5 million.

Clyne is no longer required at the club according to sources close to manager Jurgen Klopp and will be sold to generate funds for new signings come January. With Clyne now third choice behind Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez for the right-back role, Clyne is hopeful that a move elsewhere will boost his England chances.

Leicester City are believed to be in pole position to secure a move for Clyne and are ready to match Liverpool's reported asking price.

It is understood that Leicester City manager Claude Puel is a fan of the defender and has instructed his club to make a move for Clyne as soon as possible as the French coach looks to strengthen his squad in the second half of the Premier League season.

The Foxes will beat Clyne's former club Southampton to the player's signature.
