Everton respond to Samir Nasri speculation
Everton have reportedly indicated that they have no plans of offering a contract to former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri.
The Frenchman is currently serving an 18-month drugs ban but he is allowed to start training with potential new clubs at the beginning of next month.
A recent report suggested that Everton may seek to pursue the Frenchman in the near future with Marco Silva seeking further reinforcement in the club's attack.
However, according to The Liverpool Echo, that does not appear the case and an official from the Merseyside outfit has dismissed suggestions that they are in the running to sign the experienced attacker.
Nasri spent eight seasons in the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City respectively and he most recently featured for Turkish club Antalyaspor before being released at the start of this year.
The former Marseille graduate has experienced a vast drop in performance having entered his 30s but he is still expected to receive multiple offers to make a comeback once his ban expires.
