Manchester City plot winter move for ex-Chelsea defender
Premier League holders Manchester City are reportedly planning a winter approach to pursue former Chelsea and current Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.
The Netherlands international has been one of the standout performers for the Cherries during the ongoing campaign and his performances have caught the eye of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and ex-club Chelsea.
However, according to The Sun, the Citizens have joined the growing list of admirers for the versatile defender with Pep Guardiola keeping a keen eye on his performances. It is added that the Mancunian giants could seek to make a move for the Dutchman at the turn of the calendar year with a £40m bid likely to be made.
Ake, who has already bagged seven caps for the Dutch national side, has been identified as someone, who could provide more depth in the defensive positions while fulfiling the home-grown quota.
The 23-year-old recently featured for the Cherries during their goalless stalemate against Southampton. The South Coast outfit are currently sixth on the Premier League standings.
