At Just £12m, Tottenham should rival West Ham for Allan Saint-Maximin
Tottenham Hotspur desperately need new signings in January to spark a bit of life back into Mauricio Pochettinos's side, and a bit of excitement and unpredictability would be perfect.
Spurs have become predictable in the final third and although they continue to churn out winning performances in the league, they are looking more and more beatable as the season goes on.
In their 13 league and cup outings this season, Spurs have only managed to score more than two goals on two occasions, in a 3-0 win over Manchester United and the 3-1 triumph over Fulham.
In attack, it has become easier for opponents to match. That should convince Mauricio Pochettino to add a player to the Spurs final third with a bit of magic, energy and pace up front.
It should see the Argentine boss return to Ligue 1 once again, and rival West Ham for £12m-rated Nice attacker Allan Saint-Maximin (Sun), who has begun the season in excellent form.
A three-time France Under-21 international and still only 21 years of age, Maximin has scored twice and created two more this season in 11 appearances in a side that are struggling with five losses in 10 league games.
Saint-Maximin boasts huge amounts of pace, as well as an unwavering eye for goal. Defenders can read up and study the attacker's moves and traits all they want, but it is his unpredictability that will make him attractive to Tottenham.
Much like Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace, Maximin can dumbfound a defence with a mix of power, speed and skill, and that should be enough to convince Spurs to rival bitter enemies West Ham to land the player for a bargain £12million.
