Real Madrid reach deadlock in Antonio Conte negotiations

Real Madrid decline to meet Conte's transfer demands

Real Madrid have reportedly reached a roadblock in the negotiations involving former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte for their managerial vacancy.

Julen Lopetegui was axed from the head coach role with Los Blancos yesterday after a run of three straight league defeats including an embarrassing 5-1 win defeat to Barcelona.

Since then, the club are said to have made the approach to pursue Conte, who is presently out of contract but according to Marca, the deal is far off from happening.

Conte is understood to have demanded a new defender and marksman when the transfer window reopens in the New Year but Los Blancos' reluctance to fulfil his requirements appear to have stalled the discussions.

Real Madrid have secured just a single victory over the past 40 days but they should expect a win when they make the trip to north coast of Africa to take on Melilla in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.
