Manchester United join race to sign West Ham United defender
Manchester United have reportedly joined the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal in the race to sign versatile West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice.
The 19-year-old has just eight months remaining on his existing deal with the Hammers but so far, he has shown no signs of extending his stay after declining a £15,000-a-week offer on the table.
As a result, he has been linked with a number of elite Premier League sides and The Star suggests that United are mulling over an approach for the teenager at the turn of the year.
Rice, who spent time with Chelsea during his youth career, has regularly featured for the Hammers in midfield this term despite impressing at the heart of the defence last season.
West Ham United have been in contract negotiations with the youngster over the past year but there has been no breakthrough with the Irishman looking for a bumper wage rise coinciding with his current showing for the club.
