Gonzalo Higuain could still join Chelsea

Chelsea could reportedly still get their hands of Gonzalo Higuain despite the Argentine turning down their advances to join AC Milan during the summer transfer window.

The striker joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan agreement at the start of August which also included Leonardo Bonucci and Mattia Caldara swapping clubs on permanent deals.

He has since enjoyed a good return with five goals from 10 Serie A matches but his future has remained under discussion amid suggestions that he is already unsettled following the move.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Gonzalo is waiting for Maurizio Sarri's side to make a fresh approach for his signature in the future despite snubbing their offer last summer.

Sarri had been keen on a reunion with his ex-Napoli player last summer but the lack of confidence from the club's hierarchy regarding the move, is said to have played some part in the Argentine declining the Premier League challenge.
