AC Milan are reportedly planning to agree on a cut-price move for Chelsea midfielder Bakayoko, who is currently on a season-long loan with them.

Bakayoko struggled to make much of an impact during his debut campaign with the Blues last term and this witnessed him make the switch to San Siro on a temporary deal with the option to buy.

The Frenchman thereafter had a slow start to his Milan career where he was publicly criticised by manager Gennaro Gattuso but his performances have since improved.

According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri remain keen on signing the Frenchman on a permanent basis but they are reluctant to match the current £31m release clause on his contract.

The report adds that Milan sporting director Leonardo will rely on Bakayoko's desire to stay to agree on a negotiated sum with the west London giants.

Bakayoko, who has a single cap with the France national team, has managed 13 appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri since the start of the season.
