Mesut Ozil facing uncertain Arsenal future?
German playmaker Mesut Ozil is reportedly facing an uncertain future with Arsenal after being benched for the recent Premier League triumph at Bournemouth.
The attacker was surprisingly dropped to the bench for the Gunners' 2-1 win at the Vitality Stadium last weekend and speaking after that game, Emery suggested that the German was purposely left out as he lacked the physical demands for the encounter.
According to The Star, Emery is understood to be concerned about the attacker's restricted workrate especially on the road and he was far from impressed by the German's showing during the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace earlier in the month.
As such, the 30-year-old now faces the prospect of being left out of particular away games where he could come against physical opposition and this seems to have brought up question marks regarding the midfielder's long-term future under Emery.
Emery is expected to make wholesale changes to his team for the Europa League game at Vorskla on Thursday night with the Gunners with the last 32 berth already confirmed. Arsenal need one more point to assure themselves of the top position in their group without outside assistance.
