Juventus chief responds to transfer speculation over Chelsea target
Juventus sporting director Fabricio Paratici has indicated that Gonzalo Higuain is unlikely to join Chelsea in the current transfer window with AC Milan having no concerns with the Argentine striker.
Higuain joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan from Juventus earlier in the summer and he has since gone through a difficult patch with just six goals across all competitions.
Due to this, he has recently been linked with a potential move to Chelsea with the Rossoneri possibly terminating his loan contract, but does not appear the case.
"He remains one of the best strikers in the world - he showed it in these seasons in Europe, he scored everywhere. About his future, I think he's important for AC Milan, he's a great striker and they want to keep him," Paratici said.
Chelsea have struggled in the striking department this term with both Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata managing a combined tally of just six goals in the Premier League.
Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has recently acknowledged that the club may need another frontman but he has refused to give assurances that a signing could be made this month.
