West Ham turn down offer for Obiang
West Ham have rejected an offer from Serie A side Fiorentina for midfield player Pedro Obiang. The former Sampdoria player is rumoured to be interested in a return to Italy and it is understood that the Hammers have rejected a 14 million euro offer from the Viola.
Obiang, who has two years remaining on his deal at the London Stadium, is disappointed that the Hammers have turned down the bid from Fiorentina and is now considering handing in a transfer request to force through a move to a new club.
West Ham signed Obiang in a deal worth around £8 million from Sampdoria two seasons ago and are ready to cash in on the player who has played a bit part role in the Hammers' efforts so far this season.
Obiang came off of the bench in last weekend's 1-0 defeat of Arsenal and it is believed Manuel Pellegrini is considering a new contract for the midfielder to stave off interest from top European clubs.
West Ham are also in the transfer market to sign new players themselves, having been given a budget of 50 million euros to spend on new players this January.
