Arsenal suffer transfer blow in Denis Suarez race?

Arsenal have reportedly received a blow in the current transfer window after witnessing a breakdown in negotiations with Barcelona regarding Denis Suarez.

The Gunners have been in discussions with the Blaugrana over a potential loan move for Suarez this month but they seem to have reached a stumbling block.

According to ESPN FC, the Spaniard appears likely to stay put with the Blaugrana for the remainder of the season despite him struggling for gametime under Ernesto Valverde.

Arsenal have already indicated that they can only afford a temporary deal for the attacker but their reluctance to include an obligatory £17.5m buy clause seems to have scuppered the deal.

Suarez, who was left out of the Copa del Rey clash against Sevilla last night, has made only eight appearances for Barcelona through the current campaign and just two of those have come in the league.

West Ham United have previously expressed their desire to match the player's valuation but the Spaniard is not particularly keen on linking up with the Hammers.
