Romero keen on staying put with United

Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero is reportedly prepared to snub interest from elsewhere to stay put with Manchester United next term.

The 31-year-old has been the regular back up for David de Gea since his move in 2015 and he has managed just 42 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Despite this, the shot-stopper has remained committed to the club's cause and according to The Sun, he is prepared to remain with them next season regardless of the restricted gametime.

Romero has two-and-a-half years remaining on his existing deal with the Red Devils and he has previously indicated that ex-boss Jose Mourinho was crucial to prolonging his contract with the club.

The veteran, who has nearly 100 caps with Argentina, has managed just four appearances in the Cup competitions for United this term including the 3-1 triumph over Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Argentine is expected to be part of the travelling squad for the upcoming FA Cup fifth round tie against Chelsea but he may drop to the bench for De Gea to start in goal.
