Pepe on Barca, PSG radar

European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are prepared to go head-to-head to pursue the signature of Nicolas Pepe from Lille at the end of the season.

The Ivory Coast international has recently been linked with the likes of Arsenal after impressing during the ongoing campaign where he has contributed 17 goals and eight assists.

However, France Football claims that the real transfer battle could be between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain for the attacker with the presidents of both teams said to have met with Lille chiefs last month.

Pepe was valued at around £36m earlier in the season but his valuation has reportedly doubled in the past few months with him remaining consistent through the campaign.

The forward-minded player has spent his entire career in French football and has previously appeared for Poitiers, Angers and Orleans prior to his move to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in 2017.

Pepe has previously indicated that he remains a huge admirer of Chelsea in the Premier League but the recent struggles at the west London club may urge him to look for a move elsewhere.
