Arsenal decide against permanent Suarez deal

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly said to have reservations over a permanent deal for Denis Suarez from Barcelona at the end of the season.

The north London side pursued the Spaniard from the Blaugrana in January with the option to buy for £18m at the conclusion of the campaign.

However, the 25-year-old has barely featured for the Gunners in any competition and The Sun claims that Emery has second thoughts over the attacker's future with the club.

Suarez has earned just 95 minutes of action across six substitute appearances this year and it is suggested that Emery is concerned over his compatriot's inability to adjust to the demands of the English game.

Elsewhere, the Capital outfit have begun the search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the summer and Gelson Martins has been identified as one of the possible transfer targets.

The Portuguese winger has excelled with AS Monaco on loan from Atletico Madrid this year and has contributed three goals and two assists in just eight games in all competitions.
