Koulibaly back on Manchester United radar

Manchester United have reportedly decided to step up their pursuit of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly ahead of this summer's transfer window. United are rumoured to be ready to pay £90 million to sign the centre-back.

The Red Devils are likely to pursue a new central defender in the summer and they have already been linked with Leicester City's Harry Maguire.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Englishman does not appear as their prime target for the summer with a big-money move being readied for Napoli's Koulibaly.

Koulibaly only signed a new long-term deal with Napoli at the beginning of the season but United remain keen on landing him with the backline in need of sorting out to pose a title challenge.

Still, the Senegalese won't come on the cheap and the Serie A side are expected to demand fees in the region of £100m to sanction his sale at the end of the season.

United had approached to sign the centre-back under ex-boss Jose Mourinho in December, but Napoli are said to have turned down a club-record bid worth £95m for a mid-season move.
