Chelsea manager sends message to Callum Hudson-Odoi after Brighton win
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri was pleased with the performance of Callum Hudson-Odoi during his full Premier League debut against Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday.
The England international has struggled for regular gametime in the Premier League this term, but he earned the chance to impress against the Seagulls on Wednesday night, where he bagged an assist.
Speaking after the encounter, Sarri was impressed with the teenager's showing and said that the attacker has the credentials to tackle the most difficult of situations with the club.
“[Hudson Odoi was] very well, but I was sure about it as I said in the press conference, Callum is ready to play every game, also in the most difficult matches because he improved a lot during the season," he told BBC Sport.
Hudson-Odoi's future is currently under uncertainty with his existing deal expiring in 15 months' time and it will be interesting whether he can be convinced to sign an extension with regular gametime in the final weeks of the season.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are among the top foreign clubs keeping a watch on the proceedings. The Englishman is said to be valued at around £43m by the Blues.
