Arsenal to rival Tottenham Hotspur to sign Barcelona midfielder?
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to go head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Portugal international has impressed during his season-long loan with Everton this term and this is said to have caught the attention of the north London giants.
According to ESPN FC, the Gunners have entered the race to sign the former Valencia man and they could go into a potential battle with Spurs to do so in the summer.
It is added that Unai Emery's side will be monitoring the proceedings of the Barcelona midfielder, though they have not made any contact with his parent side regarding a summer move.
The Blaugrana are currently said to value their midfielder at around £30m and reports have previously indicated that the Toffees attempt to sign Gomes on a permanent deal may be dependent on the player's stance.
Gomes has regularly partnered Idrissa Gueye at the heart of the Toffees midfield this term and he has been almost ever-present in the league since making his debut in October 2018.
