Liverpool to make fresh swoop for Ligue 1 star?

Fekir back on Reds radar

Liverpool are reportedly plotting a fresh attempt to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon during this summer's transfer window.

The Frenchman was on the cusp of joining the Reds from Les Gones last summer but a deal fell through at the final hurdle with concerns regarding the player's right knee.

Fekir has since spent the entire campaign with Les Gones, but he is likely to be sold during the summer with his existing contract due to expire at the end of next season.

According to L'Equipe, the Reds are planning a fresh approach to sign the attacker in the summer but they are likely to face competition from Serie A side Juventus.

The Reds had initially been willing to pay a £53m fee for Fekir last year but they could now sign him on the cheap with Les Gones unlikely to risk him for the final year of his contract.

Fekir has contributed nine goals and seven assists for Lyon in Ligue 1 this term. The club are currently occupying the third position and on course to qualifying for next season's Champions League.
