Chelsea prepared to offer Hudson-Odoi with number 10 shirt
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer Callum Hudson-Odoi with the number 10 shirt as they seek to find a breakthrough in contract negotiations with the winger.
The west London giants are bracing themselves for the departure of Eden Hazard, who has pretty much made his mind up to join Real Madrid this summer.
According to Evening Standard, the Blues are keen on keeping hold of Hudson-Odoi beyond the forthcoming season and they are prepared to reward him with the number 10 shirt which is currently being worn by Hazard.
However, the attacker could still play hardball in the negotiations, given he is said to want a regular starting spot in addition to a significant rise on his current £22,000 weekly salary.
Hudson-Odoi has been ruled out for the season with an Achilles tendon rupture but he is expected to return by September after having a successful operation on the same.
The Blues have already turned down four bids from Bayern Munich for their graduate in January and talks over an extension are set to resume following the Europa League final this month.
