Manchester United want Italian star to replace David de Gea?

De Gea continuing with his contract standoff at United

Manchester United have reportedly identified AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma as a potential replacement for David de Gea, who has shown no indication of penning a new contract.

The Spaniard has just 13 months remaining on his current deal with the Red Devils and it appears that he has made his mind up for a fresh challenge after failing to find a breakthrough with regards to a new contract.

According to Sky Sports News, the 28-year-old is still continuing with his contract standoff with the Old Trafford outfit and this has led to the club looking into potential replacements.

It is added that Donnarumma has been earmarked as the prime choice to strengthen the position between the sticks with De Gea looking more likely to leave the club rather than honour the final year of his deal.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently prepared to match De Gea's £350,000-a-week wage demands but reports indicate that they would prefer to sign him on a Bosman at the end of next season.
