Lauren urges Arsenal to re-sign Manchester United star

Former Arsenal star Lauren believes the Gunners should take the opportunity to re-sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United this summer.

The Chile international joined the Red Devils from the Gunners during the 2018 winter transfer window after Henrikh Mkhitaryan was allowed to head in the opposite direction in a straight-exchange deal.

Since then, he has simply failed to adjust to the style of play at the Mancunian outfit and this has resulted in a poor tally of just five goals from 45 appearances for the club.

Owing to this, there has been plenty of speculation that he could be offloaded from the United ranks and Lauren feels the Chilean should make a comeback with the Gunners.

"Sanchez is a top player and top players are always welcome at Arsenal. If Emery could get him back mentally because it has been a while without him playing, then he could be a good addition," he is quoted by Metro.

Sanchez had an excellent record during his time at Arsenal where he contributed nearly a goal in every other game. Still, a return appears far from happening at the moment, considering his hefty wages.

The attacker is currently on a staggering £500,000-a-week package and the Gunners are unlikely to come close to that figure on top of negotiating a transfer package with the Red Devils.
