Arsenal join Meunier race

Arsenal could reportedly compete with Manchester United to secure the services of Thomas Meunier from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Belgian has just one year remaining on his current deal at Parc des Princes and he has been widely tipped to part ways with Les Parisiens.

Manchester United have already been touted as a probable destination for the defender, but France Football claims that the Gunners have also entered the race.

The same publication claims that Unai Emery has a close relationship with the right-back from their time together in Paris and he is keen on a reunion this summer.

Meunier is regarded as a potential addition for the right-back role next term with regular choice Hector Bellerin likely to miss the start of the season after a serious knee injury.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been the Gunners' back-up choice in the absence of Bellerin this term but the Englishman is basically a central midfielder by trade and has been prone to making mistakes on occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain are likely to demand around £26m for Meunier.
