United in for Joao Felix

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to compete with Manchester City to secure the services of Joao Felix from Benfica this summer.

The 19-year-old has experienced a fantastic spell with Benfica this term after contributing 20 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

As such, there has been speculation that the Citizens could trigger the hefty £105m release clause on the player's contract but they may potentially face competition from their cross-town rivals, The Sun claims.

As per the publication, the Red Devils are keen on adding more creativity in their attacking ranks and they are prepared to match any bid made from the Citizens for the attacker.

Felix, who has already been dubbed as the new Cristiano Ronaldo, has recently indicated that he is not desperate to pursue a bigger challenge away from Benfica this summer.

His promise over the course of the campaign has earned him a maiden call-up to the Portuguese national side, who are bracing themselves for a Nations League semi-final clash against Switzerland on home soil.
