Liverpool, Manchester City make formal bids for World Cup winner
Liverpool and Manchester City are understood to have made respective transfer bids to secure the services of Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir.
Fekir was strongly touted to join the Reds prior to the 2018 World Cup but the deal was scuppered at the final hurdle with the club holding doubts over his long-term knee issue.
Despite this, the speculation regarding his future has refused to cease and Les Gones seem to have made their mind up to sell with his existing deal expiring in 13 months' time.
According to Sport, both Liverpool and City have lodged formal bids to pursue the playmaker, who contributed 12 goals and nine assists during the recently-concluded campaign.
No asking price has been set for the 2018 World Cup winner, but reports indicate that he could be available on a cut-price deal, considering the current status of his contract.
Real Madrid have previously been credited with an interest in Fekir but they appear unlikely to make a renewed approach with Eden Hazard on the cusp of joining them from Chelsea.
