Divock Origi is reportedly on the cusp of penning a new long-term contract with the club after his sublime showing during the backend of the campaign.
Origi was restricted of gametime over the course of the previous season but he made a crucial mark with vital winning goals against Everton, Newcastle United and Barcelona.
Aside from this, Origi also ensured the Reds' Champions League final success with the second goal in the 2-0 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur and it now appears that he is on the verge of extending his stay.
According to The Mirror, Origi is close to committing his long-term future to the Merseyside outfit after earning a cult status for himself due to his recent performances.
The same outlet reveals that manager Jurgen Klopp is equally pleased with the marksman's proceedings and is confident that the Belgian can keep up with the same form irrespective of his first-team role next term.
With Origi's recent emergence, the Reds have recently confirmed that they will be parting ways with fellow striker Daniel Sturridge when his contract expires at the end of the month.
