Brazilian winger Willian is reportedly close to penning a fresh two-year contract with Chelsea following weeks of discussions with the club.

The winger's future has been a regular discussion point over the past year where he has been the subject of interest from the likes of Barcelona.

However, according to The Sun, it appears that he will commit his future to the west London club by penning a fresh two-year contract on an improved pay package.

The Blues have often allowed players above the age of 30 to reach the final months of their deal before agreeing a year's extension, but the club seem to have acted 12 months earlier on Willian, considering their transfer ban.

The Capital outfit have appealed their two-window transfer embargo at the Court of Arbitration for Sport but that may not aide their ambition of signing players unless they apply for a freeze.

The Blues are currently awaiting the hearing date for their case at the Court of Arbitration for Sport and based on that, they may decide whether to make a separate appeal to delay the ban.
