Arsenal agree Ospina sale

Arsenal have reportedly agreed on a £4m deal with Napoli for the sale of goalkeeper David Ospina during the current transfer window.

The Colombian fell out-of-favour after the arrival of Bernd Leno last summer and he was loaned out to Napoli with Petr Cech taking up the back-up role.

Ospina went on to make 24 appearances for the Naples outfit while competing with Alex Neres, and it has now been confirmed that the Serie A outfit have matched a clause on his contract.

According to Football.London, Ospina did not trigger the obligatory buy clause after making less than 25 appearances but the Italian side have still decided to pay the sum previously agreed.

Arsenal are said to be working on a limited £45m transfer budget for the summer and Ospina's sale should provide them with additional funds to spend on new recruits.

The north London side have yet to make a signing in the transfer window but reports indicate that they are close to landing the signature of teenager Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano.
