Manchester United make player-plus-cash offer for West Ham United star
Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Issa Diop by proposing a player-plus-cash deal for the West Ham United defender.
The Frenchman has emerged as one of the candidates to strengthen the club's defence and has been regarded as a cheap alternative to long-term target Harry Maguire.
According to France Football, United have lodged a £45m bid for the former Toulouse man and they are willing to offer Marcos Rojo or Matteo Darmian as part of the deal.
However, it is suggested that the Hammers are likely to knock back the advances, considering they are not interested in anything other than a straight-cash move matching their demands.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have placed a £75m price tag on the head of the centre-back, though they could be tempted by a figure of around £58m this summer.
Meanwhile, United seem on course to make their second summer signing with Aaron Wan-Bissaka set to join them from Crystal Palace on an initial fee of around £45m.
