Arsenal struggling to offload Mustafi

Arsenal are reportedly struggling to part ways with defender Shkodran Mustafi during this summer's transfer window.

The centre-back has been with the Gunners for the past three seasons and during this period, he has racked 115 appearances across all competitions.

Despite this, he has failed to make a good impression with costly mistakes at certain periods of every campaign and this has spread speculation regarding his future at the club.

According to BBC Sport, the north London outfit have sought to offload the central defender this summer but so far, they have found no offers meeting their asking price for the 2014 World Cup winner.

The Capital outfit are said to be looking to recoup the entire £35m paid to Valencia three years ago, but it is claimed that they may have to settle for a much lesser sum in order to offload him from their ranks.

Mustafi, who can feature in both central defensive and right-back, was in-and-out of the starting lineup during the final months of the previous season with Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis and Nacho Monreal preferred in a three-man backline.
