Manchester United increasingly confident of signing Portuguese star
Manchester United are reportedly increasingly confident of landing the signature of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting this summer.
The Red Devils have already pursued two players in the form of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but reports suggest that there could be further business done before the pre-season begins.
According to Standard Sport, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on pursuing a couple of midfielders during the summer while a central defender also remains a priority.
It is further added that the club are in advanced negotiations to pursue Fernandes from Sporting and the chances are high that they will recruit the midfielder with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur no longer interested.
Sporting are said to demand as much as £70m for the Portuguese playmaker, who contributed a stunning tally of 32 goals and 18 assists across all competitions for the club last term.
United, however, are aiming to settle for a lesser sum of around £50m and are confident of striking a deal with the midfielder determined to make the switch to Old Trafford.
