Tottenham offer Christian Eriksen to Real Madrid
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has made a call to Real Madrid's board, offering them an opportunity to sign Denmark international midfielder Christian Eriksen. The playmaker has rejected the most recent offer from Spurs to stay at the club and Eriksen's contract at White Hart Lane expires in 2020.
Eriksen has long been expected to be amongst the first of a batch of players headed for the Tottenham exit-door and the former Ajax player is keen on a move to Spain to prove his worth there.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are ready to pay up to 80 million euros to sign Eriksen, but Real Madrid are in pole position to secure Eriksen's signature as coach Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of the player.
Daniel Levy is desperate to redeem some funds for a player who can leave on a free transfer in June 2020 and to keep Eriksen out of the reach of a rival Premier League team at the same time.
Eriksen has informed his agent that he would prefer a transfer to Spain.
