Aleksandar Mitrovic re-signs with Fulham
Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has decided to stay with Fulham, despite the club being relegated to the Championship this upcoming season. The 24-year-old grabbed 11 Premier League goals as the Cottagers went down, leading many commentators to speculate that he would be headed for a new club this summer.
The forward has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him stay at Craven Cottage until 2024 and to end the interest of several top clubs such as West Ham and Tottenham.
The powerful forward is expected to lead the line for Fulham next season as the club hopes for a quick return to the Premier League.
A club statement announcing Mitrovic's new deal read: "The club is absolutely delighted to announce that Aleksandar Mitrovic has committed his future to Fulham.
“A hugely popular figure in the changing room and among the fans, we look forward to having Mitrovic leading the line in our promotion charge.”
The player had also been linked with a return to his former club Newcastle, but will instead stay in London for the time being.
