Chelsea make final decision over Michy Batshuayi's future
Chelsea have opted to stick with Michy Batshuayi for the forthcoming campaign and he is expected to compete with Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham for the striker's role.
The 25-year-old has been out on loan for the past 18 months, but he has been offered with an opportunity to prove his worth under Frank Lampard, who has recently been appointed as the new head coach.
According to Goal.com, the marksman is likely to be staying put with the Blues for the 2019/2020 season, considering the club are not in a position to strengthen the striking department due to their transfer ban.
The same outlet reveals that Crystal Palace have the option to sign the Belgian on a permanent basis following his short-term loan last season, but they have been put off by the Blues' £40m asking price.
Batshuayi has struggled to find the cutting edge to his gameplay during pre-season and he has managed just one goal from the five appearances. He was a second half substitute during the club's recent 4-3 friendly win over Reading.
